Trick or treating
We went up to olathe north today to do a free trick or treating ‘thing’ that they do up there for the kids. It was all well and good – up until we got to the guy with the nasty chopped up face or whatever – and Logan was DONE. then, we went down the ’scary hallway’…..and there was a werewolf mask…..’i wanna go home’. The guy took off the mask for him and it was a little better. But, I did end up carrying him most of the way…and we had to ‘go to the light!!!’. We did NOT go back into any ’scary rooms’. He was fine once he saw the candy he got!!!
His new room
We’ll be moving Logan to the front room eventually this year – and so today, here is the conversation we had.
Me: ‘Logan, how do you want to paint your new room?’ Logan: ‘SCAAAARY’. (that stems from a Max & Ruby episode today)
Me: ‘okay, what scary things do we put?’
Logan: um….polka dots!
Me: So, you want a scary polka dotted room?
Logan: Yup!
So, hmm….yeah….um….we’ll work on that one.
Uncle Kelly
For those of my readers who are not aware, my uncle Kelly, who is one of my mom’s 2 brothers, has been missing in the superstition mountains in Arizona since Thursday. There is a massive search underway – at one point yesterday there were 450 people searching. Today, Sunday afternoon, there is still no news. He went out thursday morning, and when he didn’t return that evening, my aunt of course started calling friends. They know a lot of people down there and are friends with some search and rescue people, so a search started immediately. As far as we know, he had 2 hard boiled eggs and 2 gallons of water on him – they have found both egg shells – no other evidence…no glasses, no walking stick, no nothing; so we continue to assume that he is just moving….sure he will find his way out. Please keep him in your thoughts. Here’s the most recent news article – you can also watch video on the right of the screen.
How to state the obvious
One of our ‘things’ we do in the morning is turn on the weather channel in our bedroom. Logan likes to be ‘in charge’ of that. I, if you don’t know, am obsessed with weather. I love the weather channel, i love to watch the radar, I just love it!
So, he talks about ‘checking the weader’. Today, Ralph told me that while I was in the shower, Logan wanted to go downstairs, so ralph was deterring him for just a minute and asked him to check the weather. Logan went over and said ‘it’s hot today’. Ralph said ‘is it raining? Look at the weather channel and see!’ (ralph was in the closet getting clothes). Logan stopped for a minute, turned and said ‘Dad….look outside!’
Window efficiency, here we come!!
FINALLY – we have found windows that we can afford!!! Horray!! So, in a couple months, we’ll have 2 new windows in our living room, and a new patio door – next summer, the rest of the windows. FINALLY! How much did we finance? NONE!

My Baby Eatin’ Son
Yesterday at dinner, we had rotisserie chicken – anyway, he HAD to have a leg after he saw ralph eating it…so he’s gnawing away at the chicken leg – some of it fell off onto his plate. We then hear him saying ‘baby, baby – get baby!!’ He’s using the chicken leg to poke the small piece of chicken. He then proceeded to point out that he needed to ‘eat the baby’….and ‘get it with a fork’. Which he did – to which I responded – ‘Logan, please, just eat the baby and get it over with’.
Save money on some shoes!!!!!
It has happened
we went to see Harry Potter. What? we saw a new movie immediately? WOW! No, it’s no midnight viewing, but, hey, we try. Good ole fork and screen! It was a great movie – ALL story – not a LOT of action. I mean, thinking back to the book, this was the book of story. So, unfortunately, it seems a bit anti-climactic – but to someone who has NOT read the books, they’d probably crap in their pants. But, if you havne’t read the books, then SHAME ON YOU. These are going to be put away as literary classics at some point in the distant future. Go to the flipping library and start reading.
We, being L and I are off to the hatt-town today. Yay for working on mom and dad’s house and getting a new seat belt installed in the backseat that I broke! yay!
